Se is a chemical element from the group of chalcohols. Gray metallic Se is considered the most stable modification. It has semi-metallic properties. The red Se is non-metallic and passes above 80°C into the gray metallic Se. Third modification is black Se. This converts above 80°C to gray metallic modification. In addition, se metal has six naturally occurring isotopes. Five of them are stable.
Se has a great economic meaning and is essential for all forms of life. In medicine, Se based preparations are used to treat skin diseases. To combat dandruff, Se is used as 1% Se sulfide SeS2 in shampoos. In the glass industry, Se metal comes to the production of Se ruby glass, which is used in signal and traffic light systems. Se also enjoys demand in the semiconductor industry.
RongSin specializes in producing high purity Se granules in ultra high purity for analytical standards in health and safety research and other commercial applications. Granules also exhibit the highest possible density and smallest possible average grain sizes for use in Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) and Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) processes including Thermal and Electron Beam (E-Beam) Evaporation, Low Temperature Organic Evaporation, Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD), Metallic-Organic and Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD). Our standard granules are amorphous uniform pieces in sizes ranging from < 1 mm, 1-2 mm, and 3-5 mm. Materials are produced using crystallization, solid state and other ultra high purification processes such as sublimation. American Elements specializes in producing custom compositions for commercial and research applications and for new proprietary technologies. American Elements also casts any of the rare earth metals and most other advanced materials into rod, bar, or plate form, as well as other machined shapes and through other processes such as nanoparticles and in the form of solutions and organometallics. We also produce Se as rod, pellets, powder, pieces, disc, ingot, wire, and in compound forms, such as oxide. Other shapes are available by request.
